Very comfortable Purchased this mattress for a futton I picked up at the thrift store. The mattress is very comfortable, almost too cushy to stay on the couch. I took off 1 star because I purchased the burgandy on, but where the tufts are sewn, the thread is white. I knew this before I purchased it from reading the other reviews.

8" full size memory gel mattress I should have paid heed to the reviews. I really haven't tried to sleep on it because of the smell. Granted I have a keen sense of smell but when my wife asks "What's that smell? I knew it was bad. I've had a fan blowing on it for 3 weeks and it hasn't done any good. So if you can't smell anything you might be ok but I'm afraid I'm stuck with something only my dogs will use and I'm not sure of that.

Gel Not sure if it is the Futon or the gel memory foam mattress but I have a very hard time making this go from a bed to a sofa. I usually just sleep on it as a sofa because of this.

Just ok I bought this couch for our den/play room. I wanted something to accommodate guests when sleeping over. It's not as comfortable as it mentions. And I am not loving the look. It does however hold up well with messy kids.

No but you probably won't want to take the mattress off of the frame to open and close it anyway. It will be much easier to do it that way because the mattress is very heavy

No, it does not. The mattress does not need any straps if you have/get a futon frame that has a bar or board in front that keeps it in place. We purchased the Somette Aspen mocha futon frame along with the mattress, and the front board (on the seat) seems to keep the mattress in place. Also, the mattress is very heavy, so slipping/sliding isn't a problem.

No straps. I wish it did have them because I put a cover on my futon and it slips down on the metal frame, exposing the rather ugly metal metal back. I am going to try to make straps for the cover to hold it to the frame, but this is going to be a pain. The futon is comfortable, though. Mary

I purchased this mattress with Provo Full or Queen-size Mission-style Futon Sofa Sleeper Frame. It was very simple to assemble and it is also very strong and nice to look at. A great addition to my living room! Make sure you order the full-size frame. I accidentally ordered the queen sized frame and had to exchange it.

I love this mattress and recommend it! It's very comfortable to sit and sleep on. It came rolled up in a box that was approximately 4'x2'x3'. It took a couple of weeks of use to get the mattress to want to stay in the couch position because of how thick it is, but that was a minor issue.

I absolutely love this mattress! It had no smell whatsoever upon opening, but it take a couple of hours before it was totally re-plumped. The ONLY negative is that if you tend to sit on one side daily there may be a bit of a fanny divot, but I just sit on the other end for awhile if this happens. I put a futon cover on it! I had one from my last futon, but I'm sure you can purchase online easily. Easy as pie. I also fitted a fleecy blanket over mine for extra softness as I suffer from fibromyalgia and fleece feels very nice. If anything spills or needs to be cleaned, off goes the blanket, then the cover. The futon itself could be spot-treated if anything penetrated that much.

Yes, it is removable. Pictures of the color choices can be found in the form of swatches only underneath the larger picture featured. We bought two of these because we loved the first so much...the navy is very dark blue, nearly black. The tan/kahki is very , well, tan.
